Priority will be given to projects which have the potential to scale and create transformation change for their respective industries. Proposals which involve groups of companies and/or are endorsed by relevant industry association or union will also be given priority. LED Scheme can help organisations who wishes to improve its businesses through: -
  • Implementation of automation/technology to reduce reliance of manpower
  • Up-skill staff through training
  • Build better work processes through work process redesign

Key Features of LED Scheme

Existing Assistance Schemes/Grants
Companies under the LED Scheme can tap onto existing assistance schemes/grants for support to achieve their desired outcomes.
The following are some of the current government schemes/grants that are assisting in the LED Scheme: -

  • SPRING's Capability Development Grant (CDG)
  • IMDA's iSPRINT
  • WSG's Enterprise Training Support (ETS), Productivity Initiatives in Services & Manufacturing (PRISM)

Transitional Manpower Support*
Transitional manpower support can be granted for projects only if it is necessary for them to be (a) more manpower-lean, (b) have a stronger Singaporean core and (c) better workforce quality in the longer term. Cases where companies are eligible for transitional manpower support during the interim are as follows:-

  • Operation of new equipment/technology
  • Transfer of advanced skills and knowledge
  • Existing staff to be sent for training

*This transitional manpower support (if any) under the LED Scheme is temporary and is intended to support restructuring; projects that continue with existing business models will not be eligible.
