The value added concept is one method which organizations can use to measure their productivity performance. In terms of profitability, which is commonly viewed as the responsibility of management alone, value added measurement is the collective effort of those who work in the organization and those who provide the capital. Value added measurement not only reflects the efficiency, but also measures its effectiveness. Value added ratios can indicate the problems faced by the organization and show how the employees can contribute towards the improvement of the organization's performance.
What to Expect:
- Understand the importance and need for measuring productivity in their organisations
- Explain the Value Added in relation to creation and distribution of wealth
- Compute key productivity ratios

- Monitor progress of their productivity improvement programme
- Set and deploy overall productivity goals in their organisation
- Develop an integrated productivity measurement system
